What is an RSS feed?
Un RSS feedAn RSS feed is similar to a web page, except that it is based on XML, not HTML (if you don't know the difference, it's OK). RSS feeds are used to show the summarize the content of web pages that are changed or updated frequently, such as news sites or blogs. The RefAround.com RSS feed only displays the last fifteen articles (title, date, a summary of the contents, and a link to the full article).
Why is it useful?
RSS feeds let you see new web content right away in summary form: when you add an RSS feed to a aggregator, or reader, you can follow as many feeds as you want at once, tracking new content on your favorite websites without having to go to the site itself.
How do I use it?
RSS feeds are read by an application called an aggregator. Google Reader is a good example of an aggregator that is easy to use. An aggregator, which updates instantly as soon as web content changes, allows you to subscribe to and read RSS feeds such as RefAround.com's. When you click on a link in the aggregator, it usually will take you directly to the web site.
